2) #Red4Ed at the Newport News School Board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 pm at the NNPS Administration Building at 12465 Warwick Boulevard, 23606. (School Board meeting agendas are available here.)
The NNEA and public education advocates in #Red4Ed are attending School Board meetings and City Council meetings in support of the NNEA and in support of collective bargaining rights / contract negotiations for both NNPS employees and city employees. Implementing collective bargaining will require funding from City Council.
We need to keep up steady #Red4Ed pressure at each meeting until the School Board and City Council vote in favor of collective bargaining / contract negotiations. Citizens can sign up to speak for up to 3 minutes during the public comments portion of the meeting.
If you can’t join the meeting but want to show support for collective bargaining, please email the School Board and City Council to let them know that you support contract negotiations / collective bargaining rights for NNPS employees and for city workers.
