At the Newport News School Board meeting on Tuesday, November 18th, NNEA members including NNEA President Dr. James Graves spoke during public comments in support of contract negotiations / collective bargaining rights for NNPS employees and in support of a better sick leave bank option, a sick leave donation policy for employees enduring medical crises, and protections for vulnerable LGBTQ+ students amidst outgoing Gov. Youngkin’s discriminatory model guidance. Please see minute marks 1:18:58 (Dr. Graves) and 38:18.

Next month we will gather in #Red4Ed in support of the NNEA and in support of collective bargaining for NNPS employees and city employees at the Dec. 9 NN City Council meeting at 7 pm at Midtown Community Center and at the Dec. 16 NN School Board meeting at 6:30 pm at the NNPS Admin Building.
